regulated under creditor law

regulated under contract law?

My dictionary says contract law, but I reckon that must be 'vertragrechtlich'.

Anyone had this problem before?

how Schäfer (Wirtschaftswörterbuch) deals with this:

Schuldrecht = law of obligations (ie, second book of the German Civil Code, §§ 241-853 BGB; contains most of the material which an English layer is accustomed to find in books on the law of contracts, the law of torts and in books on special types of legal regulations, such as sale of goods, landlord and tenant etc.)

schuldrechtliche Beziehungen = contractual relations
schuldrechtlicher Anspruch = claim in/under a contract (syn. Anspruch aus Vertrag) - claim arising from a contract
schuldrechtlicher Vertrag = contract

Hope this helps :-)

I hoped you might be around

'law of obligations' crops up in most of the searches I've made, but it just doesn't sit well in English.

I just wasn't confident making the jump to contract law. Your comprehensive answer has made all the difference, thanks. Contract it is.
