The big bill for blighted flats
After Grenfell, Issue 1457
WHILE councils are picking up the costs of both removal of dangerous Grenfell-style cladding from their housing stock and interim fire safety precautions, the hapless owners of leasehold flats in private blocks have problems of their own. ...
Some of the bills are staggering, too. At the 350-flat Reflexion flats in Hounslow – built by Barratt above the Blenheim shopping centre in 2006 – 16 fire marshals are on site every day and night, costing £165,000 a month. The site is owned by Legal & General and managed by Rendall & Rittner. ...

Isso ;)

During the late 1970s their live performances became patchy. In 1980, Bonham, the percussionist, succumbed to alc poisoning. By then Plant, the vocalist, had already lost much of his original voice range.

Considering that Plant's singing had not improved in the meantime, Led Zep did remarkably well when they got together at the London 02 Arena on 10 December 2007. It was just as well as international demand for tickets had exceeded twenty million.

4;Jim, do you mean since becoming president? Because I'd classify becoming president of one of the world's most powerful and wealthy countries as a break for anyone, not to mention inheriting millions or billions of dollars. I'd say as breaks go, the combination of those two is a bigger break than being born into the royal family or with the looks to become a supermodel. What would be the biggest break you could imagine?

What I meant by never getting a break is the relentless negative bias by our liberal news media
and others.  According to Pew research, over 90% of news is unfavorable towards him.  They like
to skip the positive results that he is achieving for this country:

1.)  Illegal immigration is less than half now.  We are no longer a friendly place for them.  Indeed,
so many are fleeing to Canada that it has become a problem there.  And the wall on the Mexican
border is not yet built.

2.)  Our stock market is at an all-time high.  Someone is confident in our economic future.

3.)  The employment report continues to improve.  Jobs are being created.  He is slowly bringing
companies and their money back home.  The new tax bill will make it advantageous for them to
repatriate their money.  I'll be happy again...

4;Jim, from an outsider's perspective, the constant complaints about Trump by non-Republicans sound almost identical to the constant complaints about Obama by non-Democrats during Obama's time in office. I have the impression that America is a country where a large number of people hate the president irrespective of who he is and complain vociferously about him. It seems to be what Americans do. I feel sorry for Trump that he hadn't understood this before he ran for president. He probably needs to find himself better advisers. It seems to be part of your current political system.
PS You never did answer my question, what is the biggest break you can imagine?

Trump has wealth and was elected.  Maybe there are no bigger breaks to be had.  We are looking at it
from the outside, so our speculation may not be worth much.  I would never trade places with Trump or
Theresa May.  Both of them, however, seem to be up to the tasks at hand.  I wish success to both.

As far as the squabbling Dems and Republicans, I've never seen this country as divided as it is now.
Why?  Consider that almost half of California families don't speak English at home.  They are not
the kind of American that I am.  I think this division was done to us purposely by globalist forces,
including past presidents.  If the EU survives, the next idea is the AU. Trump, I, and others are trying
to reclaim some of that which we have lost.

I may be blasted for saying this, but look at what Merkel has done to Germany with her open border
policy.  They must like it--they re-elected her.

not sure Merkel's policies were overly popular, just have a look at the rise of the far-right AfD. But, and I think this is significant, many, many people never had it better. The economy is in good shape, unemployment low, earnings increase slowly but steadily. I believe that's what people voted for.

Yet few people with a sense of humour can refrain from taking the mickey out of his gaucheries. This has been so since the late 1970s when his New York property activities first came to my attention.

That's depressing. It's the same with the "liberals" who constantly post savage anti-Brexit comments on the Guardian and Independent websites. When the result of the EU referendum was announced, the outburst of rage and spite in the Guardian was amazing.

unfortunately not just the Guardian. Some of the British media seem to think that non-biased reporting is a dirty word these days...

You may well say that. They allowed an MP (the late Cyril Smith) to get away with abusing young boys for years. Then they profess outrage when another MP puts his hand on a woman's knee (and apologizes when she objects).

it's complicated. There are always instances when subordinates put up with all sorts of rubbish for fear of losing their job.
As a young woman in London many moons ago, I was confident and not afraid and told the odd dirty old man where to go. I don't know what it's like now.
