Frage:
a record of » antworten
von database (DE), 2011-03-11, 18:55  like dislike  Spam?
Obwohl mir für den Ausdruck "a record of" die gängigen Übersetzungen einfallen, stehe ich im folgenden Satz auf dem Schlauch.

In Iran, the Islamist regime has compiled a record of repression and mismanagement.

Oder ist hier etwa "ein Weltrekord" gemeint?

Danke im Voraus

is that email correct???

Dear President Aquino,

I write to you in solidarity with the families of the men and women who have been forcibly disappeared in the Philippines.

One of them is the indigenous rights activist James Balao. Before he disappeared he told his family in an email that he’d been shadowed since 2008. And then on 17 September 2008 he was abducted by armed men, who told witnesses that they were police, in the northern city of Baguio. His family filed an application for a writ of Amparo on 9 October 2008, and finally on 19 January 2009 the court decided to tell the family where he is. But they were not allowed to visit him there, even although the writ of Amparo includes that.

That causes not only suffering for James Balao himself but also extreme suffering for family members and friends...

now you have the power / now you are in a position
It is to you, Sir, who appreciate human rights, that I appeal to free James Balao and protect him from torture

Ein wesentliches Merkmal der Beschaffung ist ohne Zweifel die Versorgungsfunktion von Unternehmen. Und auch der marktliche Bezug den die Beschaffungsfunktion aufweist ist von Bedeutung.

Doubtless, an essential characteristic of procurement is the supply function of the company. Also the reference to the market which is shown by the procurement function is of high importance.

Hallo!
Ist die englische Übersetzung so korrekt?

one of the main features of procurement is, no doubt, the supply of companies. In addition, market relevance is also an important factor.

Antwort:
It seems to be that every working doctor has to prove every five years that they have undertaken the required amount of further training.  #583217

Please check my introduction:

May I introduce myself? My name is..... I’m 29 years old. I was born in Lower Austria, but I grew up in Burgenland. I live since 2006 in the 10th district in Vienna, in a small flat on my own, together with 2 cats. I prematurely broke off my education at a Gymnasium, to work at an animal shelter as a zookeeper. Later I also worked as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary practice. I really loved this jobs, because I love animals from the button of my heart, but for financial reasons I searched for a securer job. I work now for 5 years as a secretary in a printing company, also in the tenth district, just a 10 minutes walk away from my home. I am responsible for the bookkeeping, preparing delivery notes, telephone services and direct mailings. Since I could not show appropriate qualifications for my new job, I attend to the commercial school in 2007, which I had passed in March 2009 with good results. Originally I wanted to study literature or business informatics after the Matura, but meanwhile I lost my motivation to study onwards. Probably I will search for a better paid and more interesting job and in a few years I will care for family planning.

Thanks!!!

Not used with "my," but "family planning" is an AE euphemism for "contraception." So I'd not use it.
Perhaps: think about starting a family / start a family / devote more time to my family, sth. like that?

Bacca picked up most of the mistakes, but there are a few more (based on his version).

... in a small flat with (my) two cats.
... a keeper in an animal shelter <you can only be a zookeeper in a zoo>
... just a ten minute walk away or just ten minutes' walk away
As I did not have appropriate qualifications ...
... but, in the mean time, I have lost the motivation to study further/more.
... and in a few years I will think about starting a family.
