I've just seen your entry for rickets - die englische Krankheit, which is what the Kinderarzt always said to me when telling me to give my children vitamin D drops. It always makes me smile because since living in Austria, I've seen more people (mostly men) with bow legs than I ever saw in Britain ;-)
But I will verify the entry.
so, do football players have rickets?  :-)  #219988

and here I was, never wanting to play soccer because I was afraid of hurting my shins.... :-)
The same Kinderarzt always said my children had knock-knees,  #219991

so hopefully, as my son plays football, he'll end up with straight legs. :-)

let's hope so - well, you could make him have lessons on the balancing beam in compensation :-))

and I hope it will work out alright, the straight legs I mean.
But I'm surprised, that anybody still uses that expression, thought it was long gone and forgotten.

we could maybe get an Austrian""-meeting together.... since Austria is such a small country, that should be possible :-)
I live in Graz, and a get together would be interesting,  #220001

how many people here are in Austria? And southern Germany.

X-Beine: the Kinderarzt seemed to think it was a problem (I'm still not sure what he expected me to do about it!), but I got the impression it was something he always looked for when doing the annual checks, so it can't be that uncommon.

Also, I've added "by kind permission of the publishers" if anyone would like to verify it :-)
done.  #220009

Well, Graz isn't that far away from Vienna! We could indeed.
Arrange it now – don't let the Graz grow under your feet!  #220054
