Frage:
Could somebody run through this and give me hints where needed?

Dear Ms. XYZ,

Your German co-worker in the EURES program, Ms. ZYX, told me that you are in charge of placing job-seekers from abroad in/on (?) the Slovenian employment market. I am Slovenian and German citizen of state myself, yet I know only little Slovenian. A temporary employment in Slovenia would be an ideal opportunity to improve my language skills – in return, I offer all of my manpower.
I studied History and Politics at the universities of Tübingen and Würzburg and graduated cum laude as a Magister Artium. Also, I gained professional experience as a freelancer at a press agency and in the hotel business at the front desk. I do speak German, English and French fluently and was taught Latin at school for five years, my final grade was “Very Good“. I know the common computer applications very well.

I am looking forward to meeting you personally, an ideal occasion for that would be my stay in Slovenia from July 27 to August 7, 2009.

Sincerely,

XXX

Dear Ms. XYZ,

Your German co-worker in the EURES programme, Ms. ZYX, told me that you are in charge of placing job-seekers from abroad in the Slovenian job market. Despite holding both Slovenian and German citizenship, my command of Slovenian is inadequate. Temporary employment in Slovenia would be an excellent opportunity to improve my language skills – in return, I offer all of my proficiency.
I studied History and Politics at the universities of Tübingen and Würzburg and graduated cum laude as a Magister Artium. Also, I gained professional experience as a freelancer at a press agency and in the hotel business at the front desk. I do speak German, English and French fluently and took Latin in school for five years; my final grade was “Very Good“. Of course I am computer literate.
Looking forward to meeting you personally, ideally during my stay in Slovenia from 27 July to 7 August, 2009.

Yours sincerely,

Aber wenn ich "Looking forward" schreibe, darf nach "2009" kein Punkt kommen, oder?  #443800

"I do speak" klingt, als habe jemand etwas anderes behauptet. Ich stimme gewe zu
"Looking forward" klingt, als sei das Treffen schon abgemacht. Besser "I would like to ..."
"inadequate" klingt wie eine Selbstverurteilung. Besser " is not as good as it could be"
" and in return, I would be happy to put all my many other skills at your disposal "

Kosmo: Weil der ganze letzte Satz dann als Schlußformel zu verstehen ist, bei dem als Verb "I remain" mitgedacht wird.  #443811

Yep, they are the coordinators of that programme, one in Germany, the other one in Slovenia.  #443815

I am inclined to favour Bacca's original 'I am looking forward to --- etc.'  It seems safer.
The form beginning: 'Looking forward to meeting you --- etc' strikes me as a bit long as part of the conclusion of the letter. It is by no means incorrect, but it rubs me up the wrong way.
