Frage: | corporate emptiness | |
Thema Entfremdung in der Grossstadt from the corporate emptiness of Istiniye park... was ist mit corporate emptiness gemeint? gemeinsam empfundene Leere?? |
Chat: | ? more context | #573753 |
Just guessing without more context: Die durch die Hochhausklötze der Großunternehmen erzeugte Leere. <edit> Maybe more: Die Sterilität der von Unternehmen gestaltete Großarchitektur <Google: istinye park; <I've seen worse. Doesn't look that bad from the images.> ß edited. |

I have in mind a sequence, to music, that cuts between the incredible variety of buildings in the city… from the corporate emptiness of İstinye Park, to the narrow alleys of Galata... Istiniye Park ist eine shopping mall, daher scheint mir Sterilität passend. |

I'd rather be in İstinye Park than Galata. The old buildings are o.k. (natural selection). But some of the newer shops ... If they'd at least not put a second and third story on them. |

Well, the earthquake... It will come, that's for sure, and hopefully the government will be prepared for it (if that is possible in a city like Istanbul)... |

people who get trapped underneath that shoddy construction. Sister of a guy I know had her legs crushed in the 1999 Izmit quake. We were in Istanbul shortly before and after and saw some brand new buildings that had gotten badly damaged. |
