I don't follow. |

Private insurees – civil servants, self-employed and higher earners – are so profitable for PKVs that they can not only provide medical services at the normal price, but also make reimbursements. |

Antwort: | It's more like a "surcharge." | #640439 |
Say a doctor will be reimbursed $100 for a certain procedure if the patient is insured by a state insurance scheme. If a patient is privately insured, the doctor will be reimbursed $120 dollars for that very same procedure. Perhaps "...reimburse the surcharge as well..." |

My problem was, I couldnt see from what standpoint the author is writing. It makes a lot more sense if it is the doctor who is being reimbursed, not the insured person (which the wider context focuses on). Now I get it. Thanks very much indeed. |
Antwort: | it's the medical providers which are allowed to charge higher prices to the privately insured ... | #640441 |
... giving them an incentive to provide all sorts of privileges to them |
Antwort: | If the author is consistent: | #640443 |
Erstatter = the entity reimbursing a professional for a service rendered. Erbringer = the professional rendering the service. But take this with a grain of salt. If the author believes in the blasted "avoid duplication" rule, forget I ever said this. |
