Frage: | Are you aware of this entry? | |
Hello all, Few months ago I had found a dict entry, which relates the term doctor to barber in German. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the term. i.e. Hairstylist is also termed a doctor in German. A beautiful entry. Because, the same type of relationship is also available in the oldest Tamil language. For some research purpose, I need the entry. Could somebody please identify and tell what that term is (doctor is related to barber, hairstylist something like that)? Thanks in advance! |

Maybe a small explanation would help: In ancient Tamil culture a barber is also honoured as a "doctor". Because, while cutting the head hairs, the barber would identify some diseases (not entirely) by just looking at the head of the persons. So he was also called a "doctor". Amazingly, the same term for a barber refers to a doctor in German. That term I missed here. Somebody can still help me. |
