Frage:	Odd sentencing entry in Swiss paper

Bestimmt haben Sie es auch gelesen: Der Freiburger Bergführer, der zwischen Oktober 2009 und März 2010 drei Gipfelkreuze zerstört hat, wurde vom Gericht in Bulle zu einer Busse von 90 Tagessätzen à 10 Franken bedingt auf drei Jahre verurteilt. Was he sentenced to live on 10 Franks a day for three years? Or sent to jail for three years for failing to pay a fine? Or did have to pay 900 Franks a day in fines for three years?

	Why to live on 10 Franks a day? He was sentenced to pay 10 Franks for 90 days within (over?) 3 years.

	He was sentenced of doing time for 90 days.But he can ransom himself by paying 10 Francs per sentenced day in prison within 3 years. When he can only pay 450 Francs within the next 3 years, he must spend 45 days in prison yet.

	In Austria it would mean that he has to pay the 900 Franken only, if he offends again within the next three years. Don't know about Switzerland, though. 'Bedingt' means the same as 'mit Bewährungsfrist'. Tagessatz is a fine per day (If you can't pay or refuse to pay, you have to go to prison for the equivalent number of days.). The Tagessatz is caculated by the court according to income. In Switzerland it seems to be a minimum of 10 Franken, but it can be much more for a richer person.

	von Baccalaureus (DE), 2012-06-05, 10:17 Spam? Das ist eine Vorstrafe, aber sehr milde. Im Prinzip passiert ihm nichts, aber wenn er sich innerhalb der Dreijahresfrist etwas zuschulden kommen läßt, tritt die Strafe in Kraft.

It might be worth an entry as well as "unbedingt" (without probation).
