Frage:	Ordnungsprinzip

Hi, can anybody help translate "Ordnungsprinzip" into English - and later in the sentence below "Ordnungskategorien". dict.cc suggests "organising principle", but that doesn't make much sense to me (Eng. mother tongue). Here's the original sentence: Dieses gewissermaßen geo-sozio-politische Ordnungsprinzip ist mit anderen (Ordnungs-)Kategorien koppelbar, wie „Sprache“ oder „Religion“. and my attempt to translate it so far: What we might call this geo-socio-political organising principle can be combined with other organising categories, such as “language” and “religion”. The text is about nation states and migration - I guess that's not immediately clear from the excerpt! Thanks, J.

"Classification categories" kind of makes more sense to me, but it goes against the underlying philosphical idea behind this text. I think I'll just leave that one as "categories" without an adjective. For the other one, I'd like to keep the word "order" if we can (belongs to the right philosophy - we're talking Foucault and "Order of Discourse"-type order, in case that helps), maybe "ordering principle" is better? Any ideas for something better than "principle"?

Hi there, I was convinced by ddr's google link which shows many academic examples using "ordering principle", suggesting to me that it is the standard translation used. I think the academic context will make sure that "ordering" here is not confused with an Amazon-type order! Thanks again, J.
