Frage: | wie würde man das in us englisch schreiben | |
will was für einen ami gravieren lassen "Pass auf Dich auf und komm' gesund wieder? danke |
Antwort: | Take (good) care of yourself and be back healthy! | #690271 |
Antwort: | Take care and stay healthy. | #690306 |
Google "be back healthy" wouldn't be sth. one would send someone off with. You'll find the expression in phrases like "he was glad to be back healthy." |
Antwort: | Look after yourself and keep well! | #690335 |
While the second part of the salutation is not particularly "worttreu", this is probably as close and natural to British speech as you can get. If you're looking for a closer translation, "Look after yourself and come back in one piece" might do - particularly if the addressee has a high-risk occupation or fondness for extreme sports. |

i.e. intended for someone from the US. "keep well" sounds very British to my ears. I'd use it for food that stays fresh in the fridge. Yet another BE/AE difference :-) |

It does help if you read the question properly. Lisa is right to point out my error. Incidentally, food will "keep well" in a British fridge, too. :-) |
