Frage:
If God did not intend for us to eat animals, then why did He make them out of meat? (John Cleese)
von RedRufus (DE), Last modified: 2013-07-29, 18:08  like dislike  Spam?
If God had wanted us to walk around without clothes, He would have made us to be born stark naked (Oscar Wilde, re-translated from German)

So much for God's will

Humans are made out of juicy meat, too. Does that mean we can ... ?

At universities you're also happy when every semester fresh meat is arriving :)

I have heard it said that the Japanese do not like lamb, because it tastes like human flesh.
The mind boggles.

I think what John Cleese says is simply bull... where is the difference between meat and flesh?

As an admirer of Oscar Wilde I cannot imagine he said sth so stupid - because we are all born naked. It must be a bad -re-translation.

4;Carlota, that seems to be his point. This seems to be the original quote:
"If God had meant us to be naked, we would've been born that way!"

Irony, Carlota. Oscar Wilde was a master of it. I think that there might even be a more specific name for this type of statement, but I can't think of it right now.

Obviously I've lost my irony in Spain, since nobody ever seems to understand my ironic comments ... Or Englisch humour. Even jests are here so obvious, that I'm always waiting for the point while everybody else is laughing ...

Thanks a lot for reminding me!
