Frage: | Hahn / Abzugshahn - unsere Einträge mit cock und trigger | |
Wir haben trigger = Hahn cock = Hahn (das ist mMn klar) trigger = Abzugshahn Sollten wir die vorhandenen Einträge nicht besser auseinanderfummeln - irgendwie verwirrend, beim Bebildern bin ich natürlich jetzt an Grenzen gestoßen. Kann man dieses Bild (eine bessere Darstellung find ich nicht) als "Hahn" und "cock" bezeichnen? http://contribute.dict.cc/?action=edit&id=57557&goback=2 Und wie soll dann "Hahn" als trigger dargestellt werden - Beide Bilder sind dann untereinander und sagen eigentlich was anderes aus. There are some problems with this. Hahn is not 'trigger,' but 'hammer' (never heard the hammer called 'the cock.' Perhaps it's archaic. You can certainly cock a hammer, so perhaps that verb caused the confusion). Abzugshahn for a trigger is used mostly by people not familiar with firearms for what is technically called the Abzugszüngel. It would be better to use Abzug without the ...hammer. But to complicate that matter too, Abzug technically refers to entire mechanism that fires a shot, not just the trigger or the hammer. | ||

I haven't looked at our entry, but "cock" needs to be marked. It's either for an obsolete weapon or colloquial for modern pistols. | ||

Die fraglichen Einträge sind von TU-Chemnitz und Mr. Honey. Deshalb, Lisa, tendiere ich eher zu OBSOLETE (oder veraltet oder meinetwegen coll. Aber dann sollten diese Versionen nicht bebildert werden, das bringt Menschen wie mich durcheinander!) | ||

http://science.howstuffworks.com/flintlock2.htm. You cock the hammer (spannst den Hahn) by pulling it back against a strong spring until it locks in place (einrastet). When you pull the trigger, the hammer unlocks (rastet aus), the spring brings the hammer down and the gun fires. | ||
