Payment of the fee ?when due/after it becomes due/after the due date/something else?
Antwort: Fälligkeit  #841440

Thanks, both of you. I find the idea of stating in advance that you will pay your bills after their due date/after they are due rather than when they're due weird, but I guess these ideas get into legal language and then keep getting repeated (that or Fälligkeit has a meaning that is not well conveyed by "due date" in English).
"nach Fälligkeit" im Sinne von "je nachdem es der Fall ist"   #841461

This one's from Luxembourg :)

Luxembourgish German is heavily influenced by French and the grammar doesn't always follow standard German rules. So it could be after or on the due date.

Sorry, no idea.

Thanks, everyone.

That`s a Germans official language! ;-)
In this case, the word "nach" (…Fälligkeit) means not "bevor or after", but rather "to follow".
Fälligkeit = deadline
Fälligkeit - Verb: fallen!
Was fällt? - The day of the deadline is fallen! (the ultimate date (for paying) is fallen on today!!) ;-)
In the German language we say also: (e.g) "Dein Geburtstag fällt auf den Sonntag/ ist auf einen schönen Tag gefallen!
My English is not very well, but my imagination as much more! ;D
Pflichte anon bei: ~ je nach Fälligkeit > The fee shall be paid when it falls due  #841483

which is somewhat obvious.... they're hardly going to ask for the fee to be paid late ;-)

It's possible that a distinction is made between fees due immediately after the service has been rendered (in DE, as stipulated by the Civil Code) and fees due on a later due date set by the service provider (in DE, an exception allowed for doctors and dentists).

Thanks, everyone. I went with "after it becomes due" in my translation, because unfortunately I had to return it before I started getting other answers and everything I had found so far on the Internet favoured "after", but I agree that it does seem strange (which is why I asked in the first place). "When it is due" is a good phrase in English, so I figure I'll use that if it comes up again in future.
It's a shame we don't have any Luxembourg lawyers on the forum who can confirm for us that this is what it means in legal German in Luxembourg.
