Frage:
"go on results"
von ronweb (UN), 2017-12-20, 08:43  like dislike  Spam?
Our marketing agency suggests "go on results" as an annual motto, meaning we want to focus on results instead only on activities. However, I do not find this term at all in Google.

Can "go on results" be used in English? Will it be understood?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, it will be understood.  It will also cause everyone to sigh in despair at yet another terrible example of 'business-speak'.

How do you understand this? In which way does this make any sense? I don't get the content of this sentence.

Doesn't sound good to me either. "To go on something" means to begin something ("I must go on a diet") or to act on vague information, usually in the context of a problem ("We have to go on what little we have"). Using the latter definition, "go on results" would mean being able to only look at results and nothing else to plan one's actions. I suppose a business could do that, but I certainly wouldn't advertise it.

Thanks for your advice! We will keep it simple and use "achieve results"...

I just reread the first post. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your "Focus on Results," see the link. "Achieve Results" sounds more like a banner in an Asian sweat shop, sorry. It's also stating the obvious.
Google: "focus on results"

4;sunfun: right you are. My (badly-worded, I admit) last comment was about ronweb's  "...meaning we want to focus on results instead only on activities" in his first post.
